J.Cole fans will thoroughly enjoy his latest internet release ”The Cure”, which features a sample of Beyonce’s vocals from “Lift Off”, straight off of Jay and Ye’s Watch the Throne album. Do you think he’s hitting or missing with this one?
A$AP Rocky’s latest freestyle over Lil Keke’s “Chunk Up Da Deuce”and footage of him taking a stab at “N*ggas In Paris” in the studio.
Thanks, Diverse Hip Hop.
We premiered this song a little while back on the blog, now it’s time for the music video. Personally, all I could think was “What the f#$k?” while I watched it, but yall might think it’s pretty entertaining.
The video starts out with Kanye floating around in the air in a spaceship, followed by some shots of Katy Perry in alien form wandering around on an alien planet trying to find the alien love of her life.
In the song Katy Perry sings about falling in love with an alien, and of course Kanye West talks about being the alien with impeccable swag that she’s in love with. The song comes off of Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream album, released in 2010. A “lyric video” for the song was recently leaked onto the internet (not the video above), but was quickly taken down. The video had the same strobe light/seizure inducing effect as “All Of The Lights”, which was pulled down from Youtube upon release to include an epilepsy warning (check out the video below, lol).
If the video resurfaces you know we’ll be the first to give it to yall!!
Supposedly reality star Kim Kardashian filmed a video with Kanye West in late December for her upcoming record with the hip hop star. Rolling Stone states that she may just have a hit on her hand from working with producer The Dream. It does not know if Kanye is featured on the song or if he is just a guest star in the video but I think for the fellas this may be more eye candy than anything. Who would have ever knew that she could sing? Let alone hear her say that she wanted to pursue a career in it. I love the Kardashian family and their reality shows a lot, so this will be very entertaining to see how this all plays out. One thing is for sure is that she can come up with so many ways to make $$$.
Kanye West’s interview with Matt Lauer aired on the Today Show this morning and it was clear that Mr. West was upset about some of the topics being discussed. Lauer questioned Mr. West about last years headlining incidents including him called former President George W. Bush a racist, Hurricane Katrina, and the accustations made at him for jumping on stage and grabbing the mic from Taylor Swift. Well the Today Show did their usual run of photos and clips from the incidents while Kanye was talking, and boy did he get offended. The worst part was when they insisted that he look at George Bush’s face during the interview when Bush reacted to Kanye calling him a racist. Bush labeled that moment as ”one of the most disgusting moments in [my] presidency”. Check out the video below:
I understand that the Today Show didn’t do anything out of the ordinary on the show, as Lauer said during the commentary at the end, but in my [Janae's] opinion, everyone know that Kanye is emotional about those events and he is known for controversial moments now. So I think they could’ve taken that into consideration before setting up the interview with him in the format that they did. What do you all think?
Kanye West was on the Ellen Degeneres show the other day and got DEEP on things. It was the first time that he’d sat down with Ellen since the Taylor Swift incident on the VMA’s in 2009. One of the remarkable things I picked up on was when he proclaimed that he is something like a “soldier of culture”. Ok Yeezy!
Ye is vowing never to go to another award show again as a result of what happened at the VMA’s. Ellen also asked him if the Henny he was sipping on contributed to his actions (something we all would like to know).
If you missed the BET Hip Hop Awards last night, check out the hottest and most anticipated part of the show here. All the lyricist got their grown man on in suits and ties-some you may know very well by name: Kanye West, Pusha T, Big Sean, Common, Cyhi the Prynce. Check the video below and don’t forget to vote after on who you think KILT THE CYPHER!
