The first time I saw Nyoka Ny-d live I thought of Lauryn Hill. Not saying that you should expect an exact duplicate of the hip hop legend, but Nyoka’s soulful sound and strong songwriting ability really takes you to a place when music lovers believed that female artists like Lauryn could do it all. Not everyone can sing AND rap well, but this chica masters both and sounds great at it.
If you don’t believe me, I want you to peep this new track she released just the other day titled “Battle From Within”, where she pays homage to one of our 90′s favorites, TLC. This track will be on Nyoka’s fnext album Blueberry Ocean.
